Meeting began at 10:00 a.m.

Members Present:

        Stanley Ross, Chairman, Board of Assessors
        Robert Lazzarini, Board Member
        Donald Hopkins, Board Member
        Donald Clawson, Principal Assessor
        Linda Hamill, Clerk

  • Influence factor for right of way through property.  The Board discussed the impact of a right way through a property on the property’s assessed evaluation.  The decision has been made that each property owner will be responsible to prove the amount of impact and must file a formal abatement request.  The discussed was continued to the next meeting when the Board will consider what parameters of  right of way useage should be used when estimating the impact of the right of way on the owners privacy
  • Garmin Oregon 650 GPS Unit.  This unit figures coordinates of property and takes a picture with coordinates listed on picture.  Discussion on usefulness of this unit for the Assessors field work.  Cost of unit will be approximately $475.  Board members feel that this will be a useful expense.  Also discussed the possibility of a laser unit as well.  AssessPro will be adding laser measuring in a future upgrade, board members will wait for that upgrade.
  • Old and new business.  Assessor Donald Clawson is continuing the work needed to proceed with acquiring a new tax rate.  He has been working with Town Accountant Brendan Fletcher.
